Corn Island Archaeology LLC is a small, woman-owned and operated business enterprise located in Louisville, Kentucky. Corn Island Archaeology (CIA) serves a region defined by the drainage basin of the Ohio River. Primarily focused in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, we readily support clients within the adjacent states of Tennessee, Illinois, and elsewhere in the eastern and midwestern US.
With years of hands-on practical experience in both private and public practice, our key staff is knowledgeable of the local and regional resource base as well as the down-to-earth business of cultural resources management. In providing the best possible service to our clients, we employ a common-sense approach to achieve a balance between the real-world requirements for development and expansion of communities, industry, and the military and the responsible management of significant archaeological resources.
CIA is fully qualified in all aspects of prehistoric and historic archaeology in accordance with professional standards and guidelines of the Secretary of the Interior. We are listed on the approved consultants lists of multiple State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs). CIA is a member of ACRA, (American Cultural Resources Association). Our archaeologists are members of the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) and we adhere to their code of ethics at all times.

Corn Island Welcomes William Hill to Staff!
William has 16 years of experience in archaeology and cultural resources management. He has served as Field Director, Field Supervisor, and Field Technician for a full range of archaeological investigations from small Phase I surveys to complex Phase III data recovery projects. Mr. Hill has experience in both Prehistoric and Historic North American Archaeology. He has authored and co-authored numerous reports and presented several papers at professional conferences regarding Cultural Resources Management and Archaeology. William received his BA in Anthropology from Eastern Kentucky University in 1994 and his MA in Anthropology from Western Michigan University in 2004. He is currently a Doctoral Student in Anthropology at Binghamton University (SUNY).
