Established in July of 2005, CIA is a woman-owned and operated small business providing cultural resources consulting services. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, we are fully qualified in all aspects of prehistoric and historic archaeology in accordance with professional standards and guidelines of the Secretary of the Interior. CIA serves a region defined by the drainage basin of the Ohio River. Primarily focused on Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee, we readily support clients within the adjacent states of Ohio, Illinois, and elsewhere in the eastern and midwestern United States.

Our company is listed on the approved consultant lists of multiple State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs), including the Kentucky Heritage Council. We are prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) for historic and prehistoric archaeology. In addition, CIA is affiliated with the following professional and business organizations:
